What is Kendal School Days?
Kendal School Days History Camp is a hands-on, immersive learning experience. Campers will explore traditional skills, crafts, and outdoor activities that connect them to early American and pioneer life.

Who can attend the camp?
The camp is open to students entering 3rd through 8th grade.

When and where is the camp held?
July 11-12 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm each day at Spring Hill Historic Home and Underground Railroad Site.

What kinds of activities will campers participate in?
Activities are designed to be fun, educational, and hands-on. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including:

  • Pioneer Crafts
  • Wool spinning and weaving
  • Butter making
  • Beekeeping demonstrations
  • Foraging and gardening
  • Historic cooking
  • Traditional games
  • Nature and wildlife discovery
  • and MORE!

Does my camper need prior experience with any of these activities?
Not at all! All activities are beginner-friendly and guided by experienced staff and educators.

What should my camper bring?
Campers should bring:

  • A packed lunch and water bottle
  • Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing
  • Closed-toe shoes (required for safety)
  • Sunscreen and/or a hat
  • Optional: a small backpack to carry personal items

Will lunch be provided?
No, campers should bring their own lunch. Please avoid foods that require refrigeration or heating.

What happens in case of bad weather?
Camp will run rain or shine. Some activities may be adjusted or moved indoors depending on weather conditions.

Is the camp safe?
Yes. Safety is a top priority. All activities are supervised, and staff will provide clear instructions and guidance. First aid will be available on-site.

Are there accessibility accommodations?
We strive to make camp inclusive and welcoming. If your child has specific needs or requires accommodations, please contact us in advance so we can work with you.

How much does the camp cost?
$25 per day per camper
$50 for the full weekend
